Rider Alerts
8/30/10 - Labor Day Holiday
This Alliance managed shuttle will NOT be operating on Monday, September 6, 2010 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Shuttle service will resume on Tuesday, September 7th.
8/3/10 - Mehserle Sentencing Contingency Plan
In an abundance of caution to ensure employee and patron safety, the following plan will be implemented if necessary after the public announcement of the Johannes Mehserle sentencing. Mehersle is the former BART police officer on trial for the 1-1-09 shooting of Oscar Grant at the Fruitvale BART Station. This plan will be implemented only if BART closes Peninsula Stations due to civil unrest. The sentencing will be issued on Friday, 11-5-10.
Major Elements of the Contingency Plan:
- Alliance may remove its service from the BART stations at South San Francisco and Millbrae.
- Temporary bus stops will be created on city streets so that Alliance vehicles will not have to circulate onto any BART Station property.
Temporary Alliance Shuttle Stops:
- South San Francisco BART Station: Oyster Point and Utah-Grand Shuttles will serve a temporary stop on Old Mission Road & Evergreen in the SE direction (BART side of street)
- Millbrae Intermodal Station: Bayside, North Burlingame, North Foster City will serve the Westside of the station on California Drive to facilitate transfers with Caltrain.
Other Options:
- Samtrans - A free SamTrans shuttle between Colma and Daly City BART Stations will connect SamTrans passengers with MUNI Route #14 at Mission/Evergreen. The SamTrans shuttle will operate between 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays only. Route 390 will make connections with MUNI before arriving at the temporary terminal on De Long/Los Olivos.
- Colma BART Station: All buses in the Colma Park and Ride lot, located behind the station.
- Daly City BART Station: All buses on Delong Street. The transfer point will be located at Mission and Crocker Streets in the northbound direction and Mission and Goethe Streets in the southbound direction.
- Utilize Caltrain to an eventual trans-bay service option such as bus or ferry.
- SamTrans 292 to SF Transbay Terminal, then to trans-bay service option.
- See 511 for additional transit options.
The Alliance service cannot replace BART service, and will not attempt to do so. We will make reasonable adjustments to our services to protect our employees and customers.
This plan provides the basis for meeting the remote possibility of problems developing in our county. We will all have to exercise patience, and be prepared for changing conditions and operational decisions. Thank you in advance for your best efforts in dealing with the situation.
